An address for every sender
Netflix gets netflix@, your bank gets bank@. It all lands in one inbox, and every row says which address was used.

Free for 90 days on every install
UNA runs your email from one small server you own. An address for every sender, spam stopped at the door, and no copy of your mail anywhere else.
Everything your mail needs, and nothing it doesn't. Small enough for one modest server, quiet enough to forget it's running.
Features
Netflix gets netflix@, your bank gets bank@. It all lands in one inbox, and every row says which address was used.
When an address you gave one company starts hearing from another, switch it off. The sender is told it does not exist, and you can still see everyone who wrote to it. Want to keep going? Rotate it to a fresh address in one step.
Rspamd scores every message, ClamAV scans every attachment, and a filter learns from the mail you mark. It gets better at your inbox, and nobody else reads it.
Your mail lives on your own server, in a database you can back up in one command. There is no UNA account and no copy on my side, so there is nothing for anyone else to read, scan or sell.
One vote each. Add an idea, or back one that’s already there. The idea in the lead is what gets built this month.
The stack
Eight containers and one compose file. Light enough to carry on the smallest server that can hold your mail.
How it works
Any small VPS will do. The install guide tells you exactly what to ask your provider for.
It asks for your domain and does the rest: every password, every container, the database.
git clone https://github.com/roncanfil/una.email-install.git cd una.email-install && ./install.sh
UNA writes every record you need onto a page on your server, ready to copy. Paste them at your registrar, then open your inbox in any browser.
Pricing
One price per install, and nothing per user.
€49/year
Per install. Two installs need two licenses.
Refunds are covered in the refund policy.
€149one-time
First year’s license included. After that it renews at €49 a year, like any other license.
I take only a few installs each month.
FAQ
UNA runs on a server you control, and that is the point: there is no una.email account and no copy of your mail with me, so nobody at UNA can read it. If you would rather not set it up yourself, I install it on your server, in your account, and hand it over.
UNA is webmail by design: open it in any browser, and on your phone it installs to the home screen and sends notifications like an app. It has no IMAP or POP3, so desktop mail apps do not connect, and there is no second login to secure or copy to keep in sync.
IMAP and POP3 never carry mail between servers. That is SMTP, and UNA speaks it on port 25 like any other mail server. They only exist so an app on your computer can read a mailbox kept somewhere else. In UNA the reader is the web app itself: Postfix hands each message to UNA, UNA files it in Postgres, and the webmail reads it straight from there. Search runs in the database, notifications reach your phone through the browser, and there is no copy on each device to keep in sync.
Twenty-four, and each person picks their own: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Catalan, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Arabic and Hebrew. In Arabic and Hebrew the whole interface reads right to left. Setup asks for your language first, and a word that reads wrong is a quick fix: tell me.
Every install is free for 90 days with nothing held back. After that a license is €49 a year per install, with no limit on users. If you would rather not set it up yourself, I install it for €149, the first year’s license included.
Nothing is lost. Mail keeps arriving and the admin can still read everything that came before. Sending and other users pause until the license is renewed under Settings, License, and then everything carries on.
A small VPS with a public address and 1 GB of memory, with inbound port 25 open. I run UNA on Vultr. Mail servers need to be reachable from the internet, so a computer at home behind a router is not the place for it. Outgoing mail can go straight out or through Amazon SES, whichever your provider suits.
One install serves one domain, with as many mailboxes and aliases on it as you like. A second domain gets its own install.
Run ./backup.sh. It writes one archive with the database, the attachments, your settings and the DKIM keys, which is everything needed to restore the install or move it to another server.
No, but most of what it runs on is. Postfix, Rspamd, ClamAV, Postgres, Redis and nginx do the heavy lifting, each under its own open-source license. What I wrote is the webmail, the mail handler and the installer that ties them together, and that part is under the UNA license agreement. The container images are public, so anyone can install UNA; they are not for modifying or redistributing.
